The International Bangla Film Festival Australia (IBFFA) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What We Collect
We collect personal information you provide to us directly when you:
- Submit an enquiry through our contact form (name, email address, and your message)
- Subscribe to our newsletter (email address)
- Apply to volunteer with the festival (name, contact details, availability, and relevant experience)
- Submit a film for consideration (name, email address, country, film details, synopsis, and a viewing link you provide — used solely to assess your film for the festival programme)
- Purchase tickets (name, email address, and order details; payment card details are processed by our payment provider and are never stored by IBFFA)
Why We Collect It
We use your information to respond to enquiries, deliver tickets and festival communications you have requested, coordinate volunteers, and improve the festival. We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for these purposes.
How We Store It
Your information is stored securely with our database provider, Supabase, in an Australian region data centre. Access is restricted to authorised festival staff. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
IBFFA does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only with service providers who help us run the festival (such as our payment and email providers), and only to the extent needed to provide those services.
Cookies & Analytics
Our website may use cookies and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
Access, Correction & Deletion
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, or to raise a privacy concern, contact us at info@ibffa.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
