Friday, 6 November
Opening Night
The festival kicks off with a glamorous red-carpet ceremony, welcome speeches from dignitaries and festival leadership, and the premiere screening of our opening night feature film — followed by a welcome reception.
Saturday, 7 November
Full Programme Day
A packed day of screenings, industry panels, masterclasses, a short film showcase, and a networking mixer. Discover emerging and established Bangla filmmakers, engage in critical conversations about the future of cinema, and connect with fellow film lovers.
Sunday, 8 November
Closing Day & Awards
The final day features documentary screenings, community workshops, and culminates in the Closing Night Awards Ceremony — celebrating the best of Bangla cinema with audience choice awards and jury prizes.

Parking availability varies by venue. Most central Sydney venues have nearby commercial parking stations. We encourage the use of public transport where possible. Accessible parking bays are available at all festival venues.
Venue details will be announced closer to the festival date. Screenings and events will take place across multiple locations in Sydney, including cinemas and cultural spaces. All venues will be fully accessible.
All festival venues are accessible by public transport, including train, bus, and light rail. Detailed transport directions will be provided for each venue once confirmed. Rideshare drop-off points and bicycle parking will also be available.
Yes. All Bangla-language films will feature English subtitles. Select screenings may also offer subtitles in other languages. Audio description is available for select sessions.
Most screenings are suitable for general audiences. Some films may carry classification advisories (M, MA15+). The Children's Film programme is specifically curated for younger audiences. Age restrictions, where applicable, will be noted in the programme.
Absolutely! IBFFA welcomes volunteers for a range of roles including front-of-house, guest liaison, event coordination, and marketing. Volunteer registration will open in September 2026. Please visit our Contact page to register your interest.
Opening Night is a red-carpet event — smart/formal attire or cultural dress is encouraged. For daytime screenings and events, smart casual is perfectly appropriate. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident!
